Operation Christmas Child is one of the ministries of Samaritans Purse started and directed by Franklin Graham.

Since 1993, more than 100 million boys and girls in over 130 countries have experienced God’s love through the power of simple shoebox gifts from Operation Christmas Child. Samaritan’s Purse works with local churches and ministry partners to deliver the gifts and share the life-changing Good News of Jesus Christ.

Dover Bethany’s goal this year is to fill 1,601 shoe boxes.  We will be collecting items during the year and have a grand shoe box filling party in November.  Items may be dropped off at the church any time.  There are labeled containers in the narthex.

Bathe each purchase with prayer.  It’s all about the Children!  It’s about them hearing about Jesus and His love for them.

When considering items remember the dimensions of the box:  7″ wide, 4 3/4″ high, 11 1/2″ long

We include what we call “Core items” in each box that are appropriate for all ages and meet basic needs.

Washcloth, toothbrush, bar of soap, comb, coloring book, 24 pack crayons, 12 pencils, manual pencil sharpener, sidewalk chalk, loose leaf notebook/paper, stuffed animal

Samaritans Purse can not accept the following type of items because of restrictions in shipping or foreign import regulations.

Food of any sort (that includes candy!), Glass, Liquids, Tooth Paste, Military related items.

Any and all gifts are always welcome.  We encourage you to watch for buys on clearance items.
